Application to Lease City Owned Property

Mike Stewart and Melanie Bergaron have applied to the City of Craig to lease 10 acres of Tract D-1 & D-2, ANCSA 14c3 (Craig Klawock-Highway) for the purpose of building a maintenance shop for trucking operations, wood depot as well as operating a recreational park and small visitor center with a salmon observatory, and park host headquarters.

The lease will be a market value lease at a minimum rate of 8% of market value as set by a current appraisal. If parties are interested in making a competing bid for the site or would like to comment on the lease, please submit comments to the Craig City Administrator.

Per Section 16.02.020 of the Craig Municipal Code, a public hearing on the ordinance authorizing city staff to negotiate lease terms will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. in the Craig city council chambers.
