MUDSLIDE REPORTED OUT PORT SAINT NICHOLAS RD.

On Monday, November 20th at 4:00pm, a mudslide was reported out Port Saint Nicholas Road near 62 Pit. City officials have confirmed the presence of a slide and have staged equipment for removal of the debris.

Due to lack of visibility and the storm making conditions unsafe, work to remove the blockage will not start until Tuesday, November 21st. Additional slides may occur and drivers are encouraged to avoid slide prone areas if possible.

If driving in an area prone to slides, stay vigilant of signs of a potential slide: tumbling rocks, streams running brown with shifted soil, and sounds of shifting earth, etc. If heading away from home to an area where a slide may block your return, plan and pack to stay overnight as a contingency.

If you have any questions, comments or need additional information, please call 826-3275, or stop by the Planning Office in City Hall.
