Update 3: Propane Leak at Craig Aquatic Center

UPDATE 3: PROPANE LEAK AT CRAIG AQUATIC CENTER

On August 30, 2023 at approximately 10:20am, a propane leak was identified at the Craig Aquatic Center when the pressure valve failed. As of 12:00pm, August 31st Arrowhead is continuing to pump the remaining propane out of the tank with the failed pressure valve into separate propane tanks. The leak has been significantly reduced. The cause of the failure cannot be determined until the remaining fuel is removed from the tank and a full inspection can take place.

The schools are open today as are the nearby roads. There may still be some lingering propane odor in the area due to continued efforts to transfer the remaining fuel. The Craig Aquatic Center is anticipated to reopen Friday as a temporary tank is being installed for heat.

If you smell propane, keep electronics turned off and avoid an open flame.
