City Council Seat Vacancy

NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL VACANCY
SEAT C, CRAIG CITY COUNCIL

Council Member Jim See has resigned his position (Seat C, Craig City Council) on the Craig City Council.

The City of Craig is currently inviting qualified candidates to submit letters of interest and information on why they would like to fill the vacant seat.

If interested, submit letters in person at 500 3rd Street, by mail at PO Box 725, Craig, AK  99921, or by email to cityclerk@craigak.com

Letters of interest must be submitted to the City of Craig no later than 5 pm, March 29, 2023.  Submissions will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration at the April 6, 2023 regular council meeting.

Per Craig Municipal Code, 2.12.060 a person is eligible for consideration if:

  1.   A qualified elector must have resided continuously in the city during the 30 days prior to the appointment date (April 6, 2023).
  2.   A person may not hold any city employment or any other compensated city office.

The person appointed to this seat will fill the position until October 9, 2023, when newly elected officials are sworn in.
