Rate Increases and Credit Card Fees

As part of the fiscal year 2025 budget process the Craig City Council has passed increases to water, sewer, garbage and harbor rates and has instituted credit card fees for most transactions.

Utility and Harbor Rate Changes
For the Fiscal Year 2025 budget the Craig City Council has approved increases to harbor, water, sewer and garbage fees.  These increased fees are to offset increasing costs for these services and to address deficits within these enterprise departments.

The average increase for water, sewer and garbage fees is 6% over the current rates with some modifications to the garbage rate structure to include the newer bear proof cans.

As part of the Fiscal Year 2025 budget for the City of Craig the Craig City Council has opted to reinstate charging credit card fees to the customer on most charges.

Starting July 1st, the City of Craig will begin charging credit card processing fees to customers at the time of payment for most services.

Payments made on utility accounts (water, sewer, garbage) will not be charged additional credit card fees.  For other types of payments, credit cards and debit cards will be charged a 3% fee at the time of payment.

No processing fees will be charged for cash, check or electronic checking transactions.
