Who is eligible for a library card?

Any resident of Prince of Wales Island can get a library card. Visitors can get a temporary library card with a $25 deposit. The deposit will be refunded if you are able to provide proof of residency or if you decide to close your library account with no outstanding balances. 

How do I get a library card?

Apply in person. Visit our library during staffed hours (evenings are staffed by volunteers) and apply for your card. We are unable to offer online application at this time.

What do I need to get a library card?

  • a photo id
  • proof of address (e.g. utility bill, rental agreement, post office box receipt, hunting or fishing license, or similar that shows physical address)

Can a child get a library card?

If you are under 18, you are eligible for a library card. Your parent or guardian's name will be recorded on your account. A parent or guardian may cancel a child's card at any time by informing the Library of this request in writing.
