Craig Police Department

The Craig Police Department provides general police services to Craig, responsible for a 11.5 mile area, with a population that varies since Craig host several services for other comminutes on the island, summer commercial fishing, charter fishing, and tourism.

The Department consists of four sections:
Patrol & Investigations which provides 24 hour patrol and response.
Communications Center that provides dispatch services to Craig, Klawock, the Alaska State Troopers and US Forest Service Enforcement Officers.
Craig Jail Facility which is a State of Alaska contract jail facility.
Division of Motor Vehicles that provides full State of Alaska DMV services.

Because of Craig's geographical location and size, the officers perform duties in both patrol and investigations. The Department operates from a modern facility that includes a computerized dispatch center and records management system.
 
The Craig Police Department is located at 506 Second Street directly behind the Craig Child Care Center.

DMV Weds & Fri 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. by appointment only.
